What we collect
When you opt in, we store your email address, the time you joined, and a record of your consent to receive Gentle Terrain launch updates and field notes. We also store a protected removal token so you can leave the list. The signup form does not ask for a name, health details, diagnoses or payment information.
Why we collect it
Signup email addresses are used for the Gentle Terrain early list only. Automated emails have not started. We do not sell subscriber information or make the list public. A future email-delivery service will need to be configured before newsletters can be sent.
Contact inquiries
When you send an inquiry, we store your name, email address, inquiry type, message and optional store or business name, plus the time received, an internal status and a submission identifier to prevent duplicates. We use these details to handle customer questions and retail or wholesale inquiries. Sending a message does not enroll you in marketing or launch updates.
Please do not include medical, payment or other sensitive information. Contact messages are not saved in browser storage. Basic abuse protection uses an empty hidden field and global request counters, without storing IP addresses in the form database.
Where it lives
Signups and contact inquiries are stored in the site’s hosted database, not in a public spreadsheet. Only owner-authorized database tools can read these records; there is no public list or read API. Neither form stores your IP address. The hosting service may process technical request information under its own policies.
Leaving the list
Where browser storage is available, we save your first private removal token. You can also save the private removal link shown after signing up. Already joined before? Use your original removal link or browser, not a newly generated link. Use Manage signup to remove the signup associated with that token. You can save the private removal link there for another device. Keep it private: anyone with that link can remove that signup. Clearing browser storage without saving the link can remove your access to this early self-service option.
Browser storage & tracking
We use browser storage for the signup-removal token and to remember when you dismiss or complete the launch-signup invitation, so it does not keep interrupting you. We do not add advertising trackers or analytics cookies. The hosting platform may use its own essential storage or cookies. Fonts and imagery are served by this site.
About the field notes
